Can Ui Settings Be Uploaded to Other Characters Ffxiv
Now, total disclosure: This guide isn't perfect. And perhaps is not the most efficient mode to go about the whole affair. This is just the way I've figured out how to practice information technology. BUT! It works! And that's the important part!
A Tl;DR: Get to the Concluding Fantasy XIV – A Realm Reborn folder and locate the FFXIV_CHR folder for both the graphic symbol that you want to copy UI elements from, and the character y'all want to copy them to. Copy the desired '.dat' files from the original character and supervene upon the files in the new character's folder with the ones from the original. Smash, washed!
More than in-depth below the cut.
For the sake of this guide, let's say I've made an alt, Guguzan Nanazan, and I want to copy the settings from my master character, Guinevere Ashe, onto this new graphic symbol.
We need to find Guinevere'due south character information and cache so we tin can copy the relevant data.
First stride: log in on this new graphic symbol so they actually be. You demand to create/establish them in game, not just in the character creator, to ensure they get a folder and data in the FFXIV - ARR folder.

Just for good mensurate, talk to a few NPCs and hang out for a little before logging out.
Next: Exit the game. I don't know what will happen if yous futz with this stuff while the game is running, or while you lot're playing the character in question, and I don't desire to find out. Play it safe!
Now, brand your way to the base FFXIV – A Realm Reborn folder. Information technology should look something like this:

Each of those CHARA_##.dat files is saved Advent Information from the Character Creator.
Each FFXIV_CHR### folder is a grapheme that you've created and started a game with/logged in on at least in one case so they actually exist in-game. Information technology contains everything from their appearance data to the UI layout, gearsets and keybinds that grapheme has.
And now nosotros have to effigy out which folder is whose.
As yous can meet, those folders don't have the character'southward name on them anywhere. Well… Technically they kinda do, but in hexadecimal.
Additionally, their 'date modified' is the date the graphic symbol was created, non the date the character was last played. For our newly made character, this is helpful. For older characters, not so much.
If you're hexadecimal savvy, you tin open up the FFXIV.cfg file (in Notepad) and compare the latest login information to the hexadecimal conversion of the character binder names. The final grapheme you lot logged in on should sync up with one of the folders!
The terminal logged character's folder proper name is basically
FFXIV_CHR + [hexadecimal LastLogin1] + [hexadecimal heaLastLogin0]If the information in FFXIV.cfg reads
LastLogin0 4B407901
LastLogin1 00400017
The character's binder proper noun will be: FFXIV_CHR 00400017 4B407901
But if you can't do that, at that place's some other style: using the grapheme's chat logs and dialogue. In one case nosotros detect a chat log that corresponds with the original character, nosotros'll be in the right folder with the correct .dat files.
Select a grapheme binder and open it. (I like to start from the top and piece of work my way down) The contents should look something similar this:

The 'Log' folder is the one we desire here, it contains records of the General, Battle and Effect logs from the character this folder is for.
Once you find the i you recall y'all want, open it upwardly.

While they await pretty nondescript, all of these files have up-to-date Modified dates, and whichever file was recently modified is the log from your well-nigh recent play session on that grapheme.
**These logs tin can accept fourth dimension, sometimes hours, to show up on new characters.**
For my example, that top .log was modified on xi/nine, and I know Gwen was the merely character I played that day.
Just to be safe, open upwardly the Log in Notepad and doublecheck.
It'll outset with a bunch of weird hieroglyphics and squiggles, but eventually it will startlisting words and snips of dialogue.
I oasis't figured out the rhyme or reason behind the order that stuff appears in these things. It seems to mash the General Log, Battle Log and Event Log together in real fourth dimension, but also… kind of in contrary gild? Or it starts logging at a random fourth dimension mid-quest/mid-dialogue? It makes things a footling catchy to read.
Regardless, if you look at the text long enough y'all'll notice context clues for the dialogue this graphic symbol last had when they were played.

This i has Dancing Wolf, Scarlet Carbuncle, Ascian of the Twelfth Beaker, and damage notes from the Battle Log all over the place. I know all 3 of these NPCs were involved in the Level threescore Summoner story quest I did on Guinevere yesterday.
If you're still uncertain, or if sifting through the gobbledygook (that'southward a real word, I googled it) sounds too tedious, CTRL+F and type your grapheme'due south name, or anything else you're confident should be in their log (another thespian you talked to, a spell or set on they used…)

Now that we found the base of operations/original character, open another re-create of FFXIV-ARR folder and utilise the same process to find your new character— in my case Guguzan Nanazan.
Seeing how I merely fabricated him he doesn't have a Log yet, even though I did some quests on him. Buuuuut…..

…I'1000 at least three% certain that'south him.
Skilful! At present we have both.
Before we get copying: I recommend trying to make some annotation of which folder is whose in one case you accept them figured out, so y'all don't have to get through all this trying to identify them once more in the future.
We can't rename the character folders, that will mess with the game and that would exist *MAXIMUM B A D*.Instead, create a new, empty folder in the base of operations FFXIV – ARR folder. (Don't worry, it won't mess with annihilation!) Title this binder something that volition indicate you towards the character folder you're looking for.
I utilise the Server, the Proper name of the graphic symbol and the last half-dozen-10 characters from their hexadecimal ID
Base folder looks like this:

My placeholder/reminder folder looks similar this:

I don't shop annihilation in these placeholder folders, I but use them to go along track of which character is which, only you could always use them to back upward copies of your .dat files if y'all wanted.
Now: Copying things over…
Go back to your original folder, in this example Guinevere's. You'll see this listing of .dat files.

Here's what they are…to the best of my knowledge.
ACQ – A list of people you take received tells from or sent tells to, for the ALT+R cycling. So mostly names of RMT characters
ADDON – Everything UI related, including HUD layout and window locations and sizes.
COMMON – The Grapheme Config settings, AKA the settings located in Graphic symbol Settings card.
CONTROL0 – Keyboard/Mouse Settings
CONTROL1 – Gamepad/Controller Settings
GEARSET – List of gear sets saved to your character.
HOTBAR – The contents of your Hotbars, such as spells and attacks, just not their positions.
ITEMFDR – Item location information. When you lot correct click on an item and choose to search, this is the local file that's referenced to tell you where like items are (your inventory, your retainer, etc…)
ITEMODR – Item locations in your and your retainer'due south inventories.
KEYBIND – Self-explanatory.
LOGFLTR – Conversation log filter and color settings.
MACRO – Title, Icon and Line list of custom macros on your graphic symbol.
UISAVE – Contains content cashed in the UI, such as the retainer venture timer, and possibly other stuff
There is a backup/restore function for these .dat files the launcher if anything gets messed up or goes missing. HOWEVER! Be warned: that role is all or nothing. Information technology volition back up and/or restoreeverything, not only private components.
Now, re-create the .dat files yous want from the base character to the new 1, and choose to 'replace' the files in the new folder.
Protip: Don't get your folders/characters mixed up.
You'll go from scrub UI…

To THIS!…. Or your variation thereof!

Hotbars? More than similar hot MESS
It's a clustfuck I know, don't @ me lol
Copying over the hotbars too copies the icons on them, even if the new character doesn't have the same items, mounts and moves. Nothing to worry about. On the bright side, it's easy way to make sure you take the exact same button layout betwixt characters!
Tada!! :D Hope it helps!!
